Our client is a developer and manufacturer of state of the art, thin-film flexible photovoltaic materials and modules. We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented CDS Engineering Technician.

We are hiring for a Engineering Technician who will work closely with process engineers, technicians, manufacturing personnel, and management to ensure proper tool performance and a safe high-throughput process with maximum uptime is achieved.

  • Day-to-day sustaining of CDS wet deposition equipment
  • Provide cross team support as requested by management
  • Write and maintain procedural and equipment maintenance SOPs
  • Parts tracking and inventory control to achieve maximum uptime
  • Monthly uptime tracking and report generation using OEE system
  • Partner with internal stakeholders and equipment suppliers to drive down costs without sacrificing safety, uptime, and throughput or process control by achieving positive vendor/supplier relationships
  • Support tool metrics, installation, tool decommissioning and safety program improvements in a team environment
  • Analyze tool data log activities and make recommendations in collaboration with stakeholders to identify

and implement process improvements

  • Research, identify, and propose next generation tool specification(s)
  • Work closely with Facilities Coordinator to ensure regulatory compliance of tool start-up and decommissioning
  • Provide on-call support after hours, including nights/weekends
  • Support the handling of hazardous waste material in accordance to federal, state and local regulations; individual will be trained (upon hire and annually) for the requirements of safe handling and proper disposal of any material deemed to be hazardous and the proper use of PPE for this activity
  • Other duties and projects, as assigned

Basic Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in a technical field (electronics, chemistry, physics, or related discipline) and 5 years experience is preferred, or 7 years of related equipment and vendor interaction experience is acceptable
  • Possess understanding of mechanics, pneumatics, electronics and/or electro-mechanical, and DVM
  • Knowledge of SPC and how it is used in a manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated ability to create, write and maintain SOPs
  • Ability to read and interpret electro-mechanical drawings
  • Detail-oriented and able to work autonomously with minimal direction
  • Basic working knowledge using MS Word and Excel applications; CAD experience is a plus
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to interact with multiple work groups to complete daily tasks
  • Experience with, and capable of, production processing involving hazardous chemicals
  • Good understanding of safety protocol working with and around toxic/hazardous materials
  • Must be able to pass a respirator fit test, as well as be cleared to work around heavy metals and chemicals associated with the position

This position is a 2nd Shift role, working 4pm – 12:30am and/or 4, 10-hour shifts starting at 4pm.

Salary Range = $55,000 – $62,000
